Racecourse Road is set in the middle of some of Brisbane's oldest suburbs such as Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield. For many decades the area was known for its rich farming land but in recent times the racing connection has taken over and stamped its dominance.
Many of Brisbane's landmarks are found here but none more recognizable than the 1.2 km Racecourse Road itself.
Our Road boasts some of Brisbane's top restaurants and cafes, as well as a number of take-away outlets and bottle shops that are scattered up and down the street. Fashion for both men and women, beauty salons, and almost all the banks can be found here. The medical disciplines are well represented by the local doctors, dentists, optometrist, pharmacists and podiatrist, and two supermarkets can be found on Racecourse Road.
Our Road offers anything from Antiques to computers to Financial, Accounting and Legal Advice. You can pick up flowers on the way home from one of the two florists. Those lucky enough to own or live in one of the many luxury units that adorn Racecourse Road can avail themselves of many facilities such as the public library, or can utilise the convenience of Brisbane's River Cat at Brett's Wharf for a relaxing cruise into the CBD or just across the river to the very cute Oxford Street at Bulimba.
There is virtually nothing that Racecourse Road does not offer. So why not come and have a coffee, a stroll around, and see it for yourself. Breakfast is a great time as many cafes open early.
